Accessibility Statement
Effective August 7, 2026
What we have implemented
These are measures actually in place on this site, not intentions:
- Colour contrast is enforced by the build. An automated check runs every time the site is built and fails the build if any text or interface colour pairing falls below the required ratio. A second check measures text that sits on photographs against the actual brightest pixel behind it, because a colour that passes on a flat background can still be unreadable over an image.
- Skip to content. The first thing keyboard focus reaches on any page is a “Skip to content” link that jumps past the navigation.
- Keyboard navigation. The navigation, including the “Who we work with” menu, opens and operates with the keyboard as well as the mouse. Visible focus styling is retained rather than suppressed.
- Semantic structure. Each page has exactly one main heading and a heading order that does not skip levels, so screen-reader users can navigate by heading. Pages use proper landmarks — header, navigation, main and footer — and declare their language.
- Images. Every image carries alternative text. Images that convey information are described; images that are purely decorative are marked as such so screen readers skip them instead of reading out noise.
- Responsive and zoomable. Layouts reflow down to small screens without horizontal scrolling, and text can be enlarged without content being cut off.
Known limitations
We would rather name these than imply the site is perfect:
- Our contact form and booking calendar are provided by a third party and embedded in the page. We do not control their markup, and their accessibility may not fully match the rest of the site. If either one blocks you, email us and we will book you in or answer your question directly — see below.
- We have not yet commissioned an independent third-party accessibility audit. Our testing to date is automated checks plus keyboard and screen-reader review by our own team.
Tell us about a barrier
If any part of this site is difficult or impossible to use, please tell us. Include the page address and what happened, and we will work with you to get you the information or service you needed.
- Email: admin@goodbookkeeping.com
- Hours: Monday–Friday 8am–4pm
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 2 business days and to give you a substantive response, or a fix, within 10 business days.
If we cannot resolve something quickly, we will tell you what we are doing and give you a way to get the same information or service in the meantime.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is not a one-off task. The automated contrast checks described above run on every build, and we review this statement as the site changes.
